Dear all,
it is reporting time ... FAO will report on the Nutrition Indicator for Biodiversity for 2012 on food composition. We have collected some information from the international scientific literature. We are aware that this is only a part of the true picture. We would appreciate if you could assist us in providing a more comprehensive picture.
In this respect, FAO would appreciate if you could report on the biodiverse foods (see http://www.fao.org/infoods/infoods/food-biodiversity/en/ specifically http://www.fao.org/docrep/014/i1951e/i1951e.pdf ) that you have in your user food composition table as well as in the reference database. If you also know of thesis or posters or articles published or if you have data analysed on biodiverse foods, we would appreciate if you could send us information on it.
Please include the list of foods counting for the indicator as well as the number of components covered. Please also provide the references of the publications.
Juan Du, my colleague here at FAO, will collate the information and put it into a document. So please send the information to her ([log in to unmask]). Thanks a lot in advance for your collaboration.
