Subject: Director, CGIAR Research Program (CRP) 3.5 "Grain Legumes".

You have recently been contacted by my colleague Mayan, but we have discovered that many individuals had difficulty with the email going to spam, therefore I am contacting those from whom I did not get a reply. Do forgive the intrusion if it was that it was not convenient for you to respond.

I am the Search Director with SRI Executive Search, an established Executive Search and Consultancy Practice headquartered in Dublin, Ireland.  I am acting on behalf of The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (http://www.icrisat.org). On their behalf, I  am seeking exceptional candidates to undertake the position of Director, CGIAR Research Program (CRP) 3.5 “Grain Legumes”.

The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) is a non-profit, non-political organization that conducts agricultural research for development in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa with a wide array of partners throughout the world.  ICRISAT and its partners help empower the poor people in the semi-arid or dryland tropics to overcome poverty, hunger and a degraded environment through better agriculture.

The CRP in itself is seen as a major enabler to fuse the incredible talent working in the grain legumes area, thereby making more effective and efficient use of the talent and money invested in this field of research.

The Director, CRP Grain Legumes will play a key role in leading and managing an international, multi-disciplinary, and multi-cultural team at the CGIAR Research Program on Grain Legumes (CRP 3.5).  The incumbent will ensure overall success in crop improvement, agronomic management, seed systems interventions, up-scaling and out-scaling technologies/innovations, and related high-priority value-chain interventions to maximize the benefits that grain legumes offer to smallholder farmers, especially women, in developing countries.

I have attached the job description for your perusal.  I would be very grateful for indications of anyone you feel might be suitable.

Wishing you the compliment season, and perhaps giving you some time for thoughts on this opportunity.

Kind regards

Helen
