This training is open competitively to selected QUALIFIED candidates (see application form) who would be available for follow-up work on toolkit training in Africa and elsewhere. Please advertise through your respective networks.

Dear colleagues,
we would like to inform you, that CIRAD will be organizing (funded by French Government funds routed through the World Bank) the first livestock toolkit training (in English) May 27-7 June, 2013 at Montpellier (FRANCE).
The objective of this training of trainers is to train a critical mass of trainers to support teams launching national studies in countries that have expressed their interest in implementing a full analysis of their Livestock sector with the support of experienced trainers. There will be two ToT’s one in French (2014) and one in English (May-June 2013).

A total of 24 experts (12 Anglophone and 12 Francophone) are expected to be identified with an intention to form 12 pairs of experts composed of:
The ALIVE training associated is open to independent consultants and others, with a priority on consultants who will be then available to undertake training in Africa and elsewhere. Proof of this status is required (see application form in attachment).
The training will support (using the French funds) approximately 6-8 trainees.
Additional candidates will be considered providing that they can be supported by their institutions. The training facilities accommodate approximately 12 trainees. All trainees should be available to support follow-up training/rolling out of the toolkit (as outlined in the original concept note which we developed).
Staff from international organizations or research organizations (universities, etc) will be allowed to submit their candidature only if accompanying by a letter from their institution certifying their future availability for working as a trainer. Training could last up to 6 month duration/ year and participation in the training would have to be financed by their institutions (travel expenses).
