11 March: Release of new FAO-developed application for mobile devices that aims to help consumers
make informed choices when buying seafood. 12-13 March: FAO Director-General visit to Switzerland. FAO head José Graziano da Silva will
be in Bern for talks with Federal Councillor Johann N. Schneider-Ammann, head of Switzerland’s Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER), as well as with Swiss parliamentarians, to discuss FAO-Swiss cooperation on matters related
to food security. Wednesday, 13 March: Graziano da Silva visit to the Netherlands. Graziano da Silva will meet
with Princess Máxima and government authorities, and will also sign cooperation agreements with the Rabobank Group as well as with Wageningen University and Research Centre. 13 March: Launch of new FAO project to develop better ways to monitor and measure hunger levels. 14 March: Release of new FAO report detailing the status of sharks in the Mediterranean. |
