Press Conference on 4 June to launch The State of Food and Agriculture (SOFA) 2013
New SOFA report finds global malnutrition costs unacceptable, urges priority action
Journalists are invited to a press conference on 4 June to launch the latest edition of FAO’s flagship publication
The State of Food and Agriculture (SOFA), devoted this year to Food Systems for Better Nutrition. The Report calls for priority action to combat malnutrition through changes in national and international food systems, noting that vitamin and micronutrients
deficiency together with obesity and overweight exact social and economic costs running into trillions of dollars a year. SOFA will be introduced by a recorded video message from FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva.
