Dear Colleagues

I would like to comment on Fredrick viewpoint while saying that sero-monitoring with out properly and statistically designed and analysed will just be wastage of resources and time but at the same time vaccination twice a year will again put a significant pressure (in terms of money & time) on the already inadequately resourced veterinary services. Therefore, I feel there is a need for an advocacy campaign for the enhancement and institutionalisation of the epidemiological and analytical capacity / skills of national veterinary services which will enable to have risk based vaccination strategies in conjunction with sero-monitoring while utilizing their resources efficiently.
