Dear Paul,
In July last year, FAO launched the “Livestock socio-economics and policy network for Africa- LSPNet. The network has begun establishing some links with NEAT  which stands for “Networking to enhance the use of economics in animal health education, research and policy making in Europe and beyond”
The first year work plan of the LSPNet has an activity on an e- conference on the socio-economics of PPR. The scope, tools and approaches.
After some discussions today, we thought that the proposed e-conference can address amongst other issues, the subthemes of PPR socio-economics that arose from the e-conference on GREN.
Let me know your quick thoughts on this before we can design the activity
Regards,
Tabitha Kimani,
Dear Tabitha, my quick thought probably on behalf of every participant is an easy one.Yes of course.  However, may we ask two or three things?  One, please try to make sure that whatever you do is available/easily linked to PPR-GREN and that participation in your e-conference on socio-economics of PPR does not detract from PPR-GREN either because of PPR-e-conference fatigue (!*:) happy!) or some people simply forgetting that PPR-GREN is seen to be the main intended channel for new ideas to flow on up to decision making bodies in OIE and FAO.  Two,  when PPR-GREN starts please try to keep the socio-economists, who I know are  very busy, still aware of how important their cross-cutting inputs to PPR-GREN's main themes will be.  Three, who will your membership be for the new e-conference; could members from this e-conference automatically roll on to on yours when it starts? kind regards, Paul.
