Dear colleagues,
I would like to take this opportunity to tanks the moderator
for the wonderful facilitation and to FAO for this opportunity to
discuss either progressive control or and eradication of PPR at Global
level.
I would like to stress the
following points:
· Economic
impact of PPR
We need to provide evidences beyond the classic impact we are
looking as vets. I am suggesting to look the impact of PPR on the GDP. Losing
2,3,4,...GDP points or gaining
2,3,4. GDP is the language that a policy makers can understand.
· Scoping
and review paper on PPR
FAO is collecting all the
works published and no published regarding PPR (see one of the contribution),
therefore I think one of the concrete way forward for this group is to have
groups which could work on scoping
or review paper to identify gaps and that could be very useful to guide the
most appropriate next steps.
· Global
coordination of PPR
It
looks like the success of the control, eradication of animal diseases relay on
a combination of the global-based, continental-based, regional-based and country-based
coordination. We have a great example of the eradication of animal disease, the
RP, that effort was coordinate at the global level by FAO, GREP, and in Africa,
a continental body, AU and its technical body AU-IBAR (JP 15, PARC, PACE). Because
PPR is a global problem, I would like to suggest to have the same approach lead
by the multilateral bodies (FAO, AU,...) in partnership with others technical bilateral
institutions to set up a PPR global program and to keep PPR-GREN network.
With Regards,
Serge Nzietchueng
Dear Paul
Dears colleagues
yes we came to the end of this e-conference, but i would like first to thank you Paul as moderator of the e-conference that played a key role in the conference . thank you for the success. secondly thank s also to all colleagues for their valuable contributions. Despite that I could not contribute to all sessions actively due to limited time that I have during this
conference, I really learned allot from reading the contributions of all colleagues. I think this is not the end of this kind of communications and hope that PPR-GREN network that planned to be available in the future will take a lead.
thank you again for everybody
wish you all the best
Mansoor Alqadasi
