Dairy Outlook is a service of FAO’s Trade and Markets Division
Dear Michael,
As announced, ten liquid milk factories in France opened their doors to the public between 28th May and 14th June. It was a great success! Near to 10 000 visitors came and visited one of the factories, appreciating our “savoir-faire”, being impressed by industrial tools and all of the quality controls. They were also able to find out about milk production. Milk tasting sessions (plain or flavored) were also very much appreciated. You can find reports of these openings on our blog http://www.journeemondialedulait.fr/.
Yours sincerely,
Anne-Sophie Royant
Secretary general of Syndilait

Many thanks to all members who have sent in reports. We have now come to an end of the current messages, but if anyone has any additional information on their country’s celebrations, I would be happy to receive it.
We will now put all the information received together (along with an additional 20 or so reports from other countries which we have garnered from the internet) and produce a summary report which will serve as a point of reference for next year’s celebrations.
As I’ve already mentioned, the event has now expanded well beyond the confines of this e-forum and the number of countries celebrating is expanding – this year new countries included France and Libya, to name just two.
Greetings to all!
Michael
