1. further to our flash message of 15 October, we have been informed today by Social Security of FAO as follows: 

 

“ Meetings with new claims handler Allianz Worldwide Care  this week

To all participants of the BMIP/MMBP medical insurance plans

This is to invite all staff and retirees/beneficiaries  to a meeting with the representatives of Allianz Worldwide Care, who will take over from Vanbreda International as the new claims handler from 1 January 2015.  Allianz will remain the insurer of the plan as it is now under the current contract.  

The meetings are open to all FAO, WFP, IFAD and ICCROM staff and retirees who are participants of the BMIP/MMBP medical insurance plans. Allianz will give presentations (three in total), which will be followed with Q&A sessions.

The meetings will be held in the Green Room (Building A 1st floor.) on the below dates and times:

  • Thursday, 13th November 2014 from 11:00 until 13:00 (Rome time) – session in English
  • Thursday, 13th November 2014 from 15.30 until 17:30 (Rome time) – session in English
  • Friday, 14th November 2014 from 11:00 until 13:00 (Rome time) – session in Italian

2. we apologise for this short notice, but, as stated, it has just been received. 

3. our General Secretary has separately requested in writing that specific sessions be organised for retirees  (we hope with more advance notice), but for the moment, this is the initial step that is being taken by FAO.

    4. for those of you who will be unable to participate in any of these briefings, and particularly for the majority of our members who do not live in the immediate vicinity of Rome, we are also pressing the Organizations to inform all           pensioners of the changes which are to become effective on 01 January 2015, and stressing, in particular,  the need for new insurance cards, and information on claims forms from the new claims handler.
