You are what they eat: The importance of animal feed for public health Unsafe and poor quality animal feed can put human and animal health at risk. Various contaminants can find their way into feed, and subsequently into animal products. Production of safe and quality feed and its control is vital for enhancing public and eco-system health. Healthier animals have higher immunity which protects them from diseases including zoonotic ones, and also enhances the efficacy of vaccines and veterinary medicines. [...]
