The FAO is inviting calls for Expressions for Interest for an Regional Project Coordinator (Fisheries Management) for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Caribbean Billfish Project (GCP/SLC/001/WBK)

Background
The Caribbean Billfish Project is a USD 1.95 million project component of the GEF-funded, World Bank implemented, Ocean Partnership for Sustainable Fisheries and Biodiversity Conservation Models for Innovation and Reform. The Ocean Partnership is part of a larger framework, the Common Oceans Program, a comprehensive GEF-funded initiative coordinated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) working with a variety of partners including governments, regional management bodies, civil society, the private sector, academia and industry to work towards ensuring the sustainable use and conservation of ABNJ biodiversity and ecosystem services.
The three- year Project which was implemented in March 2015, consists of 4 components:
Vacancy for Regional Project Coordinator (Fisheries Management)
Duration: 11 months with possibility of extension
Duty station: Barbados with regular travel to the WECAFC member countries
Qualifications/Competencies:
· Advance degree in Fisheries, Fisheries Management, Natural Resources Management or related field.
· At least 5 years of relevant experience in regional project/programme management and implementation.
· Proven ability to implement projects in the Latin America and Caribbean Region.
· Previous experience on fisheries management issues, preferably including experience on co-management and participatory management processes.
· Fluency in English and Spanish.
