WMD number 15 in Malawi was celebrated at Thyolo this year – marking a return to the dancing started many years ago. This year’s dancing cloth (made for the event) topped 38km… 5 tons of it! At 2m per piece you can imagine the reminders of this and past years are frequent thru the highlands.
As has become the pattern on the day there was a team promoting milk in Blantyre, and the farmers were hosted by Chandamale milk collection centre for their day of speeches, displays, prize giving and dancing. Many farmers were late to arrive and even later returning for milking, with an assortment of broken down buses and trucks limping them home. But it such an important day that anyone with a cow is determined to go to get there whatever the cost!
Greetings to milk producers everywhere.
