RE: Second Announcement and Call for Abstracts
for the 10th International Symposium on Agriculture and the
Environment (AgroEnviron 2016)
The 10th International Symposium on Agriculture and the
Environment (AgroEnviron 2016) will be held May 23-27, 2016 at
Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, USA. Attached
please find the Second Announcement and Call for Abstracts. The
abstract submission website is now open at Purdue University, so
please create and submit your abstract document prior to the
submission deadline of January 15, 2016. The URL for abstract

Submissions will be accepted under one of the following 11
thematic sessions:
1. Mitigation of and adaptation to climate change
(Climate Smart Agriculture)
2. Soil conservation under climate change, and effect of
extreme weather events
3. Modeling effects of climate change on agriculture and
forestry
4. Sediment and water source fingerprinting &
measurement techniques
5. Agricultural water conservation and water resources
utilization
6. Future sustainability of healthy soils for agricultural
production
7. Soils and diffuse pollution, and pollution control
8. Use of the concept of connectivity to assess water and
sediment transfers
9. New technologies for agro-environmental studies
10. Risk assessment and environmental management
11. Science policy interface on biodiversity and ecosystem
services
The full abstract may contain up to 600 words as well as
tables and figures, and should be submitted as a Word (.doc or
.docx) format file, with single-spaced lines, 12 pt Times New
Roman font, and 1" margins all around. An example abstract
document is available via the submission website. Authors may
update their abstracts until April 1, 2015.
Format for all volunteered presentations at the symposium
will be combination oral/poster. All presenters will have 3
minutes and can project up to 3 Powerpoint slides to introduce
their talk and major findings. Following all oral introductions
(advertisements), the remaining time in the sessions will be
devoted to poster presentations where more in-depth discussions
of the research and findings with individual presenters can
made.
Meeting registration details, lodging, and costs have not
yet been finalized by Purdue Conferences, but should be
available later this year. When available, that information will
be sent to all registered abstract authors, and links posted to
the registration site via the main AgroEnviron website (http://topsoil.nserl.purdue.edu/AgroEnviron2016/).
