LinkTADs dissemination event at EPIZONE The first of two dissemination meetings under LinkTADs took place on 2 September 2015 in Montpellier, France. The agenda of the event can be downloaded here. Second Technical Meeting of the Animal Health Networks in Central Africa
The second technical meeting of the Animal Health Networks brought together the Chief Veterinary Officers (CVOs) as well as the focal points of the laboratory (RESOLAB) and epidemio-surveillance (RESEPI) networks in Central Africa sub-region. The meeting was held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from 26 to 28 August 2015, back-to-back with the Central Africa sub-region roadmap workshop for the control and eradication of Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) (24-25 August). FAO and government of Uganda launch a smart livestock vaccination campaign targeting over 2 million livestock animals FAO Regional Office for Africa The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Government of Uganda have today launched a strategic vaccination exercise that is aimed at controlling livestock diseases in Karamoja region, a ‘hotbed’ for Transboundary Animal Diseases (TADs). The three months long exercise targets over two million livestock animals including cattle, goats and sheep. Pakistan Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards Training Programme will be an effective tool to handle livestock emergencies FAO Pakistan Representation Islamabad, 3 September 2015: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is initiating “Pakistan Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards Planning and Training Programme” that would benefit livestock officers at the national, provincial and district levels to be better prepared to handle livestock emergencies.
