Best regards Your FSN Forum Team Bee products: providing nutrition and generating income - Honeybees, beekeeping and bee products in our daily lives The discussion explored the role of beekeeping and bee products around the world and invited to reflect on how to create sustainable conditions for agriculture and apiculture to coexist and benefit from each other. Participants shared insights on the apicultural practices in countries such as Bangladesh, Cameroon, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Uganda, Togo and Tunisia and identified the need for further awareness raising, training and providing access to credit. The discussion also explored the role of beekeeping as environmental service and collected examples of innovative beekeeping practices. This discussion, organized in partnership with the SecureNutrition platform, aimed at taking stock of what countries around the world are doing in the area of nutrition-sensitive social protection, their successes and their challenges. Participants acknowledged the positive role that social protection can play in improving nutrition, and brought up examples from their countries that are aiming at and, in a few cases, have already achieved positive impacts on the nutrition status of beneficiary populations. Nutrition education came up as one of the main components of successful nutrition-sensitive social protection interventions.
