Dear all,
I would like to wish you and your families a merry Christmas and happy new year, and a peaceful time in this period.
I would like to thank you all for the great collaboration in 2016 which allowed FAO/INFOODS to advance a bit on the way to bring food composition and biodiversity onto the global and national agenda; to recognize their
importance for nutrition-sensitive agriculture, healthy diets, climate change preparedness and food-based approaches; and to have more and better data available on the contents of the foods we eat, produce or wish to promote.
I am looking forward to 2017, with new challenges and opportunities, new ideas and projects, new achievements and partners. And to continue working with you so that one day we will reach our goal of a world without hunger
or malnutrition, with a healthy environment and a food production which meets our needs for nutrition, taste, culture and livelyhood.
I am sure that in the future, all our efforts will lead to a healthier and more nutritious food supply and to more people being able to cover their nutritional needs through foods.
