Dear Partners and Observers,

We would like to take the opportunity to kindly update you and remind you of several upcoming deadlines related to the Working Group on Capacity Building's (WGCB) Activity Groups 4 and 6.

Activity Group 6 (AG6):
We are pleased to circulate a final draft of the Report "Examples of Positive Bioenergy and Water Relationships", developed by the Activity Group 6 (AG6) of the Working Group on Capacity Building (WGCB), under the leadership of IEA Bioenergy. Both a Word and PDF version of the report can be downloaded from the following Dropbox<https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3cuiu2l31zy2rwv/AAAHxgITrsl6QxPqtN2DbmjBa?dl=0> folder.

This report is the result of the AG6 'Call for Evidence of Positive Bioenergy and Water Relationships' and the related workshop that took place in Stockholm in August 2015. It showcases selected examples that illustrate an encouraging variety both in terms of bioenergy systems and geographical distribution, and they all show how solutions can be found that produce bioenergy while contributing positively to the state of water.

It is considered to be in its final form, however, if you have any major concerns, please let us know by COB Friday, 29 January. Please note that your comments, if any, are expected to refer only to the introductory texts as the rest of the report reflects the exact example that each author developed. The final version of this electronic report will be posted to the GBEP website starting 1 February at which point we would like to invite all Partners and Observers to distribute copies through their own communication channels.

Please also find attached for your kind approval the list of additional experts to be added to AG6's current roster of external experts. Please let us know if you have any concerns about the inclusion of these experts by COB Friday, 29 January.

Activity Group 4 (AG4):
The ECOWAS workshop on sustainable wood energy in Benin, which was scheduled to take place in April 2016, has been postponed to the week of 9-13 May, 2016 for political reasons within the host country, in light of presidential elections that will take place next month. Further details on the exact date and location will follow.
The purpose of this workshop is to build synergies, share experiences within GBEP AG4 and ECREEE's expert groups and beyond, and promote modern and sustainable wood energy management by bringing out success stories in various parts of the world.

We would like to take this opportunity to kindly remind you that if you wish to submit a template on good practices in wood energy development for consideration for this event and/or provide feedback on the attached agenda, please do so no later than 31 January 2016.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Best regards,

GBEP Secretariat
