Theme 1: Agrobiodiversity health and nutrition state of the art new knowledge
Theme 2: Mainstreaming ABD into programmes and policies to improve food, nutrition and health
A parallel session at the 1st International Agrobiodiversity Congress will be dedicated to Agrobiodiversity for Nutrition and Health. Abstracts are currently being accepted for two thematic areas; Agrobiodiversity health and
nutrition state of the art new knowledge and Mainstreaming ABD into programmes and policies to improve food, nutrition and health. In theme one abstracts can include both quantitative and qualitative studies of food composition, dietary intake, new methodologies,
documenting indigenous knowledge and local availability of agrobiodiversity. Topics for theme two include examples of integrating agrobiodiversity into programs to improve nutition and health such as integrated home gardening and other agriculture approaches
to improve nutrition as well as integration of agrobiodiversity into
social safety net schemes, locally sourced foods into school feeding or other programmes. Abstracts which review agriculture, nutrition and health policies or the enabling environment for mainstreaming agrobiodiversity are also welcome.
