Dear Subscribers,
Please see herebelow some excellent news from John Landers in Brazil regarding the Round Table on Responsible Soy approving two milestone decisions about CA/Zero Tillage.
Well-done John for this achievement, which we hope will be emulated by other Agricultural Land Use Round Tables.

Dear Amir,
I would like you to post the following on CA-CoP ;
At its AGM on 2nd June, the Round Table on Responsible Soy approved unanimously the setting up a working group to elevate CA/Zero Tillage from a recommended practice to an obligatory one for future certification of Responsible Soy and Maize. This should be incorporated into the standard at the next review of same.
The meeting also approved unanimously the adoption of Zero De-forestation in its' Criterion 4.4, as of June 3rd 2016. This is the first international multi-stakeholder crop certification to take this stance, emphasizing the need to recuperate degraded pastures and other under-producing lands already de-forested.
These two milestones mark the retirement of John N. Landers after 10 years' participation in the RTRS.
Cheers,
John
