EXCLUSIVE WORKSHOP
WITH MICROBIAL ECOLOGIST
WENDY TAHERI
Limited to 60 attendees | Additional $75 to attend
How Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungus
Can Boost No-Till Profitability

In this 3-hour intensive session on managing soil microbes, Wendy Taheri of Pelham, Ga.-based TerraNimbus will lead you through some of the mechanisms that arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) use to protect plants and how you might encourage the proliferation of these valuable fungi.
Why AMF?
AMF induce salinity and drought tolerance in plants and protect them from a broad range of diseases. AMF specialize in the uptake of phosphorus, making organic phosphorus and other typically unavailable forms of phosphorus plant available by transferring it directly into plant roots. Utilizing natural reserves of phosphorus may become crucial in the near future, as scientists estimate our domestic supply of phosphorus will be completely depleted by 2041 at our current rate of use.
The microbial ecologist will also explain how management decisions with tillage, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, tiling and seed coatings affect AMF and, ultimately, the quality and fertility of your farm soils. She will also discuss soil microbial diversity and the role it plays in plant protection.
Sign up for this special workshop for just $75 when you register for the 25th annual National No-Tillage Conference.
