Dear Members,
We are pleased to share with you the recently launched
Capacity Development Portal, which offers a wide range of tools and resources for practitioners working to develop country capacities in food security, nutrition, and agricultural development.
FAO’s strategic and inclusive capacity development approaches target national and local institutions as well as individuals,
thereby promoting long-lasting changes in country capacity.
The portal’s resources include learning manuals, short practical tools, as well as videos, e-learning courses, case studies
and stories about capacity development projects around the world.
You will find guidance on how to carry out capacity assessments; how to design capacity development projects; how to facilitate
multi-stakeholder processes; and how to ensure that learning is translated into practice.
Practical examples from country-level projects include stories regarding Food Security Information Systems in
Somalia and
Sudan as well as a Nutrition capacity assessment in
Uganda, to name a few.
We invite you to visit the Capacity Development Portal and make full use of its resources at
www.fao.org/capacity-development.
