This degradation directly affects the food supply and income of the poor, increasing their vulnerability and creating
a vicious cycle of hunger, poverty and further land degradation. To address these challenges, an updated set of tools and approaches for participatory land use / resources planning that takes into account biophysical, economic, socio-cultural and governance
dimensions, is needed.
This survey aims to collect lessons and experiences from current users of land resources planning tools and will help
address gaps and identify features of an updated toolbox to support participatory land use / resources planning.
