Survey:  Participatory Land Use/Resource Planning Tools and Approaches

Dear Members,

We would like to invite you to take part in the survey Participatory Land Use/Resource Planning Tools and Approaches, organized by our colleagues from the FAO Land and Water Division.

Globally, 33 % of land is moderately to highly degraded and with the additional available land often not suitable for agriculture, there are few opportunities for expanding food production in new agricultural areas.

Survey

This degradation directly affects the food supply and income of the poor, increasing their vulnerability and creating a vicious cycle of hunger, poverty and further land degradation. To address these challenges, an updated set of tools and approaches for participatory land use / resources planning that takes into account biophysical, economic, socio-cultural and governance dimensions, is needed.

This survey aims to collect lessons and experiences from current users of land resources planning tools and will help address gaps and identify features of an updated toolbox to support participatory land use / resources planning.

The survey is available in all the official UN languages:

Arabic: http://svy.mk/2k8p7iC

Chinese: http://svy.mk/2jH2THI

English: http://svy.mk/2hV46dC

French: http://svy.mk/2k8DKCI

Russian: http://svy.mk/2i0DIfS

Spanish: http://svy.mk/2jg3Weg

As the survey is also targeting land users/farmers, farmers’ organizations, government organizations and practitioners, we encourage you to forward it to representatives of these groups you might know.

We thank you for your time and look forward to your participation.
