Dear Amir:
Following is a new book from FAO released this week during a FAO symposium on Soil Organic Matter. CA-CoP members may find it useful.
Soil Organic Carbon: the hidden potential. 2017 FAO publication. Website for download of 9 MB, 90 page PDF.
Abstract:
The publication was launched at the Global Symposium on Soil Organic Carbon (GSOC) held at FAO headquarters (Rome, 21-23 March 2017). It provides an overview to decision-makers and practitioners of the main scientific facts and information regarding the current knowledge and knowledge gaps on Soil Organic Carbon. It highlights how better information and good practices may be implemented to support ending hunger, adapting to and mitigating climate change and achieving overall sustainable development.
The FAO Global Symposium website referred to above contains a meeting agenda, concept note and some useful infographics on soil and climate change (English only?)
If you want to explore global soil resources for your area of the world, including SOC values, then I encourage you to take a tour of the International Soil Resource Centre (ISRC) SoilGrids website. Using the latest digital soil mapping science, they have produced global soil grids at 1 km and better.
Best regards,
Tom
