The minutes of our team meeting today (to dos in bold):
1)
Administrative issues
·
Martina is on mandatory service break and will return on 14.04.
·
Clara got a job in Valencia, her contract with FFF is now for 15 days, homebased with the output being the gender assessment
·
Violeta’s recruitment is being processed in Budapest
·
LoA with IIED has been checked and final amendments done; clearance is expected soon
·
Everyone should make sure to use the newest templates and to submit budgets in excel sheets for all LoAs
2)
Updates from the Manager
·
We receive $ 60.000 additionally, assigned for Ruanda event, maybe used partly for/by IIED
·
International Day of Forests (forests and energy) raised some negative press, e.g. by Global Forest Coalition
·
Phase II fundraising: Violeta will prepare fundraising plan; SIDA will decide in April; FMM funds are cleared now; FLEGT money still not received – Jeff and Bob might go to Brussels soon; Further targets: Canada and GER/BMZ (see
separate Email on Berlin Charter); Anna confirms that IIED has 2 fundraising trips scheduled for this year;

Concern over short time available for fundraising and the need for coherent/joint effort by all partners
à this will be discussed during team meeting in 2 weeks (04.04.),
Jhony will prepare and chair; Duncan and Chris should be present if possible
3)
Updates from the field
·
Regional meeting in Asia needs to be planned and decided upon soon; one option is Myanmar;
Sophie to get feedback from Nepal and Vietnam to ensure soon decision on date and location.
·
Women’s champions: Few countries will be selected for piloting, Jhony suggests Kenya and Myanmar from his countries;
Anna will circulate ToRs soon for feedback
·
There is an IUCN vacancy in Bolivia, Pauline will link up and also with Latin-American chapters in general
4)
Updates from Edinburgh and Gland
·
Business incubation (Anna): Draft had been sent by Duncan,
feedback by the team required; 02.10.: Final draft of case studies expected; Will be presented e.g. at FLARE conference, Regional Meetings and IUFRO Conference; Field work in selected countries in August
àConsider needs assessment of Apex FFPOs? Needs gender and youth lense;
Duncan and Anna will be linked up with Allison (consultant for guide of guides) for feedback/support

Pauline will circulate AMPB report soon
·
There will be a separate meeting with Anna on REFACOF, AFA etc.
5)
Small but many is big
·
Svea sent around new concept note, please give feedback
·
Decision on meeting dates will wait after IUCN meeting with consultant on Friday as he might be facilitator for the meeting and could do write-up afterwards; No matter the decision, his paper will be an important input for the
meeting (might be presented by Duncan alternatively); Is there money to engage the consultant for the meeting? And/or for having an additional consultant (e.g. Eric)?

As Svea will be on leave by then, Pauline will take over the coordination work, FFF colleagues (Martina, Zoraya, Tatiana) will help with logistics; We hope most will be paying for their travel themselves
·
Jeff will try to get Illias on board again
We did not decide on a chair for next week’s meeting!
