Dear Members,

Today we are happy to send you an update on the ongoing CFS call for effective policy approaches to address food security and nutrition in the context of increasing urbanization and changing rural-urban dynamics.

First and foremost we would like to thank all participants who have already shared their input, and invite you to visit the discussion page to read all contributions received so far.

Participants are sharing many interesting ideas, experiences and policy approaches from all over the world.

Reference was for instance made to a UN-Habitat project, which will focus on supporting African countries in implementing integrated, polycentric and balanced territorial development policies. The aim is to enhance food security by making small and intermediate cities a strong element in national urban policies.

Another contribution introduced the Indian ‘White Revolution’ , which aimed to improve dairy production and distribution. The Revolution has led to affordable dairy products for urbanites and has empowered traditional dairy producers and increased rural incomes.

To take advantage of this opportunity to share your knowledge, please visit the FSN Forum webpage to read the full introduction to the call and to download the template for submissions in English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish or Russian. You can then upload your contribution online or send it to [log in to unmask].

We look forward to keep receiving your comments and wish you all a Happy International Women’s Day!
