Dear Sarah,

Have you tried a Google Scholar search on your subject: Boer goat meat nutrient data?

It reveals a few scientific papers (also directly downloadable) from which you can continue your search.

All the best,

Anders

Subject: Boer goat meat nutrient data

Dear InFoods Discussion Group,

I am trying to source nutrient data (proximates, fatty acid profile and mineral and vitamin data) for goat (capra aegagrus hircus) meat.

Of most interest is data for pasture-raised Boer goat:

·         Goat / Chevon - max. 16months old

·         Kid / Capretto - milk-fed kid 20-40 days

·         Kid / Capretto - milk-fed kid 40-60days

I have not found find much data for on goat meat so any information or suggestions on where to look would be greatly appreciated. What I have found so far:

·         New Zealand FoodFiles: Goat, rib loin chop, lean, raw

·         USDA: Goat, raw and Game meat, goat, cooked, roasted

·         Turkish Food Composition Database: Goat leg, loin, rib and shoulder

Thank you in advance for any information you can share.

Kind regards,

Sarah Patterson
