Dear Members,
Some confusion seem to have occurred regarding prevention of cancer screening tests.
The following has been clarified by Allianz:
- Mammography once every 2 years covered for females from 40 to 74 years of age
- PAP Smear tests once per year covered for females from 21 to 65 years of age
- Prostate cancer colon-rectum tests covered for people over 50 years of age yearly
Allianz has informed that the above applies only in case of routine health checks i.e. the patient can undergo these tests as routine, without a diagnosis
Allianz has clarified that if a doctor finds a sympton then the above tests becomes diagnostic and are covered without age limits and, if necessary, can be undergone any time if
requested by a doctor.
For this purpose, if you are over the age limits , mentioned above, it would be best to request a prescription to accompany your claim for reimbursement.
Further, since it seems that for data protection some doctors are refusing to indicate a diagnosis on the invoice Allianz has also informed that you, yourself, can indicate the diagnosis on the claim when submitting the invoices.
We hope that the above clarifies the issue on cancer screening tests.
Should you need further information on this subject please consult the Allianz team (Valeria and Lisa) available at FAO every morning, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 to 12:30 hours, WFP Thursday afternoon from 14:30 to 17:00 hours and IFAD every second Wednesday of the month in the afternoon from 14:30 to 17:00 hours.
