Event at FAO aims to spark renewed global effort to better manage droughts
International Seminar: “Drought & Agriculture: Predict, Plan, Prepare: Stop Drought Becoming Famine”

Other participants in multiple break-out sessions will include experts from the academic, science, humanitarian, and policymaking communities.
During the seminar FAO will also present a new report looking at drought management and the possible impacts of climate change on water resources in Central Asia and Turkey.

The event will conclude with a final communique by the event co-chairs.
Webcasting
will allow those not able to attend to follow. Simultaneous translation into Arabic, English, French and Spanish will be provided.
The seminar coincides with the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought (17 June).
