In Madrid, Spain, The National Federation of Dairy Industries has celebrated the World Milk Day 2017 and we have met several members of the global dairy sector to
know the different perception that we have in different parts of the world of the dairy products.
Representatives of the dairy sector, authorities in the Administrations of Agriculture, Health and Economy, scientists and representatives of various organizations
and emerging countries have gathered to promote the benefits of milk and dairy products, encouraging their consumption as a fundamental part of a rich diet in nutrients.
We had a round table with the main topic “A dairy sector in shape: the best combination of nutrients".
The presenters were Mrs. Helene Simonin - Director Food, Environment & Health, European Dairy Association; Mr. Javier Fontecha – Director of the Lipids Group CIAL-CSIC,
Spain; Mr. Peter Mwaniki Ngaruiya - CEO East and South African Dairy Association and Mrs Erin Coffield, Strategic Communications & Integration - Health & Wellness - National Dairy Council, USA.
The Spanish Agency of Consumption, Food, Security and Nutrition was represented by their Executive Director, Mrs. Teresa Robledo who was responsible of closing the
event.
