Croatian Dairy Union with schools and kindergartens in Croatia celebrated 18th World School Milk Day in the park "Bundek" in Zagreb. This manifestation has the main aim to promote healthy lifestyle and to improve the quality of diet through including dairy products in everyday children's diet. Because of that it was also supported by Croatian Agricultural Agency, City of Zagreb, Zagrebačka County and three Croatian dairies - Dukat, Vindija and Belje who promoted WSMD by donating milk and dairy products such as fermented milk, chocolate milk and cheese.
The day was filled with fun and joy and 1300 children together with their teachers were participated in interesting and entertaining program consisted of songs, plays, dances, paintings and sketches on the theme of milk. They send message to the Croatian public that milk is unique, irreplaceable and delicious part of their diet. Croatian Dairy Union promoted milk and dairy products with a magazine "Mlijeko i Ja" - popular journal about milk and its benefits for health. Specials guests of the manifestation were young farmers, children dressed in folk costumes with calves who delighted all present at the manifestation. Croatian Dairy Union organized a charity aid named "Croatian dairies donate milk and dairy products", which was this year donated to school for children with special needs "Poliklinika SUVAG".
