Dear Fellowship,
I am pleased to send the policy brief “Innovative Viable Solution to Rice Residue Burning in Rice-Wheat Cropping System through Concurrent Use of Super Straw Management System-fitted Combines and Turbo Happy Seeder”, which has been developed by the Academy, to address the problem of air pollution due to crop residue burning. The brief provides an innovative viable solution to check burning of rice residues, which is a major contributor to air pollution in the early winter months in North-West plains of India.
The Academy had several rounds of discussions to identify suitable technology, which may address the problem of crop residue burning in shortest possible time. Trust, this brief will be helpful to you in advancing solution to this national problem.
With kind regards,
Yours sincerely,
K.V. Prabhu
Secretary
