Yet no other sector holds the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in our lifetime as agriculture. At the UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn, FAO will support countries to ensure that the linkages between climate change, agriculture and food security are made for enhanced climate action. Join us in discussing how we can tackle hunger, poverty and climate change together to meet the Sustainable Development Agenda and achieve Zero Hunger. Here are the COP23 events with FAO participation: 10 November Climate Action for Food Security: Harvesting Adaptation and Mitigation Benefits in the land sector. 16.45 - 18.15, EU PAVILION AGRICULTURE ACTION DAY - BONN ZONE During the Agriculture Action Day of the Marrakesh Partnership for Global Climate Action, FAO and its partners will showcase its work and expertise on topics such as managing water scarcity and food waste, integrated landscape management, low carbon livestock, use of climate data, climate-smart agriculture and traditional knowledge systems. This event will show how the UN System is supporting governments, economic sectors, civil society and communities in taking climate action. The German Minister of Food and Agriculture Christian Schmidt and the French Astronaut Thomas Pesquet from the European Space Agency will take part in the opening and the first session respectively. All day event, Kameha Grand Bonn, Am Bonner Bogen 1 - 53227 Bonn 13th November Unlocking investments in climate resilience The purpose of the roundtable is to identify the major barriers and opportunities to increasing the volume of investment in climate resilience in developing countries, and the opportunities resilience presents for investment. 11:30 - 13:00, tbc 14 November HIGH-LEVEL ROUND TABLE SDG 2 - Climate Action for Zero Hunger The High-Level Roundtables on Climate Action and Zero Hunger will provide an opportunity to enhance understanding of what is already happening to achieve Zero Hunger. The President of Fiji George Konrote along with FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva and the French Astronaut from the European Space Agency Thomas Pesquet will be opening the event.
