Dear All:
Sight and Life held its first very successful Elevator Pitch Contest last year at the Micronutrient Forum in Cancun; it was very useful for the students to learn how to pitch an idea. In 2018, upon invitation of the American Society for Nutrition (ASN), we will be hosting the contest at the ASN conference in Boston, 9-12 June. The theme is Nutrition Assessment. The entries for the contest are due 31 January 2018. The Elevator Pitch Contest is a platform for students to pitch their innovative ideas to experts and potential investors in nutrition.
We're trying to reach as many student networks as possible, e.g. through you as their supervisors or mentors to encourage them to submit their ideas. We believe that there is a close link between dietary assessment and food composition. For this reason, I am sharing the RFA with this dynamic group. More details about the contest please find below and here - https://www.elevator-pitch-contest.org/
With my very best regards,
Klaus

The Elevator Pitch Contest hosted by Sight and Life is here!
The 2nd edition of the Elevator Pitch Contest<https://www.elevator-pitch-contest.org/>, a competition amongst innovators, is seeking disruptive ideas that will change the current way nutrition is measured. Whether a cutting-edge product, service, technology, or application in nutrition assessment, the concept needs to advance and improve the existing approaches in a meaningful way.
Why Nutrition Assessment?
We are striving to improve the assessment and evaluation of a person's nutritional status. Nutritional deficiencies are major public health concerns in many low- and middle-income countries, but accurate and actionable information is often lacking due to high costs and logistical challenges associated with assessing nutritional status. Precise, user-friendly, and low-cost analytical tools are needed.
Cash Prizes and More!
Finalists will win a round trip flight along with accommodations to Boston in order to participate in the American Society for Nutrition's 'Nutrition 2018<https://meeting.nutrition.org/>' (June 2018) and pitch their idea in front of a panel of experts and potential investors. Winners will receive a cash award of up to $2,000 USD. For additional details and requirements for the Elevator Pitch Contest, visit elevator-pitch-contest.org<https://www.elevator-pitch-contest.org/>. Submissions are due by January 31, 2018.
