Agriculture & Global Change:

Driving Forces, Contributions to Global Change, and Climate Risks

November 1, 2018  •  MIT Campus, E18-304  •  10:00a – 4:00p

There are considerable forces shaping the future of agriculture. Identifying research needs on sector-specific climate effects and risks is both urgent and essential.

Researchers at the MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change have many years of experience identifying challenges for the agricultural sector, and can provide expert guidance to assess risk and create new opportunities.

This workshop welcomes participants to engage in an interactive dialogue with the Joint Program Agriculture team as well as guests from industry and academia. Featured panelists and the ensuing discussions will allow participants and researchers together to explore research needs and opportunities to pursue frontiers in critical Agriculture research topics.

Topics:

·         Driving Forces for Agriculture

·         Agriculture as a Contributor to Global Change

·         Climate Risks and Agriculture

Pre-read materials will be sent in advance of the workshop, and a full agenda will be made available once presentations are confirmed.
