FFOA is pleased to let you know about a forthcoming theatre piece, written by the Irish playwright Shane Harnett - who works as an Editor in FAO - and is, in fact, a world premiere
production, and directed by an FFAO member, Michael Fitzpatrick, who many will remember was also the Presiding Officer at our last FFOA General Assembly.
The characters, Maggie and Brigid, are two friends who haven’t seen each other for decades. When their lives reach a turning point, they both turn to baking….and baking brings them back together….as well as drinking….and arguing….and
making up. Theirs is a friendship of tenderness and venom. And a great deal of humour. When Maggie suggests taking a holiday to Rome to see the Pope, Brigid agrees and the two women set off on a trip that will define who they are and how they relate to each
other. This is a story of love and loss, life and death, friendship and estrangement. There is pushing and shoving, a few sharp objects, and some words that are only fit for actresses.
Details of theatre times and booking arrangements are given below and attached. Please share with interested friends....
