Dear FAO Colleague,

With reference to the following email from the FAO-Dairy Outlook, we at India have planned/commenced a range of exciting activities to celebrate the World Milk Day 2020. It is my pleasure to share information on the same:

1.   Social media campaign: Drink Milk Live Healthy  (engage in YouTube, Facebook, twitter and Instagram) – A social media campaign through images and videos which underlines the correlation between milk and immunity, safety, quality, and nutrition on one hand and livelihood of small farmers on the other.

2.   Facebook Chat:   Dudh – Garam ya Thanda? (Milk – Hot or Cold?) – An interaction with social media users over their milk choices. Would encourage them to share their experiences with different ways they have been consuming milk.

3.   My milky story – (Facebook) - The idea is to encourage social media users to go on a nostalgic ride. Social media users will be encouraged to post their stories about drinking milk in childhood. It will leverage the emotional appeal of milk.

4.   Competition: Cook the Milky Way Challenge (Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) – In this competition social media users are invited to post videos of their recipes using milk / milk products. It is a tribute to the vast use of milk and milk products in Indian food. Winner gets prize. https://www.facebook.com/NationalDairyDevelopmentBoard/photos/a.764460130282615/3080510848677520/?type=3&theater

Dear Members

We would like to remind everyone to mark World Milk Day (1 June)

Remember, it’s up to you to decide what type of celebration you wish to hold – this could be anything from a Press Release to a national event.

There is no specific theme suggested for World Milk Day, apart from the general theme of celebrating milk (consumption, production and processing).

In order to get some inspiration, you can find details of previous years’ events at the link mentioned above.

Share your plans for the World Milk Day in your country with the list!
