Why sustainable beekeeping?
Good Beekeeping Practices are prerequisites for a sustainable, resilient but also competitive apiculture sector allowing to face the current challenges of modern beekeeping. Through the adoption of good practices, the beekeeping sector can improve the environmental
biodiversity, enhance crops production and contribute to rural development. Sustainable beekeeping is the way forward for apiculture, it takes the "One-Health” approach into account and contributes to the achievement of most of the Sustainable Development
Goals.

Keeping bees around the world.
Not just honeybees and beehives
When we speak of beekeeping, immediately in the mind’s eye appear pictures with Western bees and our modern concept of beehives. However, the world of bees and beekeeping does not always look like this! Bees and beehives differ all around the world. In this
lecture we cover the diversity of bees, beekeeping models and services provided by our little friends all around the world.
