Dear Members,
All Rome based Agencies are adopting a cautious and prudent approach to granting access to Hqs in line with advice
from WHO and the Italian Government. There continues to be uncertainty on Covid-19 case increases and the impending reopening of schools may adversely affect the epidemiological situation in Rome, despite the
safety measures being implemented. Plans to grant enhanced access to staff have been further delayed until at least the end of September and are likely to be postponed further.
FAO (and WFP and IFAD) are committed to finding solutions to the challenges many colleagues and retirees are facing but this has to be done against the broader background
of the measures that are needed, in these exceptional times, to protect the health and safety of all who access FAO premises and their families. In line with
this and in collaboration with the various concessionaires,
the following solutions have been identified by FAO for the retirees to access the different services:
1. Alternatives to physical attendance to the two Bank branches:
Banca Intesa San Paolo:
cash/desk operations are allowed in every branch of
the Intesa Sanpaolo group. All offices follow the same opening/closing hours (Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 16:15), advance
appointment is required. For any other type of requests, clarifications or support,
the FAO branch staff should be contacted at
the following telephone numbers:
-
Roberto Montesi – 06/57173736; 3446436215
-
Michela Cinti – 06/57173732; 3397526069
-
Fabiana Santi – 06/57173735; 3397546586
-
Giulia Gatti – 06/57173798; 3397207116
-
Debora Borello – 06/57173727
-
Marina Giampaola – 06/57173734
Banca Popolare di Sondrio:
the FAO branch phone number is +39 065717191 and the dedicated email address: [log in to unmask].
Regarding alternative offices, Banca Popolare di Sondrio has more than 40 branches in Rome, through https://www.popso.it/filiali-atm retirees/staff
can find the closest to their address/needs. Ordinary operations can be performed at any office, however, for special request as i.e. investments/loans/mortgages FAO brunch should be contacted for instructions.
2. Alternatives to the
Post Office services: agreements have been made with the Roma Ostiense Post Office (Via Marmorata 4). In case of operations that can be completed “in circolarità” (at any post office), appointments can be made in Via Marmorata or in any other
post office of choice. In the event of “operazione radicata” (only available in the office where the account was opened), upon request, Director of Roma Ostiense will contact the client for an appointment.
3. Alternatives to
Insurance Company services: De Besi Di Giacomo is reachable at 06
57055774, with an alternative branch located in Lungotevere Flaminio 14, Roma, phone number: 06 3608391 (Monday-Friday 08:30-13:00 / 14:30 -17:30).
FFOA is aware of the frustration of its members concerning access to services in Hqs buildings but safety and caution continue to be necessary to safeguard
the health and wellbeing of all- staff, retirees and family members. We will continue to monitor developments and inform members accordingly.
The
FFOA General Assembly will be held virtually this year ( by Zoom) on
Wednesday 28th October at 9.30 a.m. and invitations to connect will be sent to members shortly.
Keep safe and well.
Regards,
FFOA Executive Committee.
