Dear colleagues,
I am glad to introduce you to Samuel Adeyanju (based in Vancouver due to Covid) who will join the Forest and Farm Facility one day per week until mid-December, the end of his current internship period with NFOI.
Samuel will support communication and outreach activities such as

Analysis of LoA country reports for promotion of best experiences (for example success stories),
·
Development of short promotional videos about country activities,
·
Support to key messages for social media cards.
Given his experience (see his CV attached), Samuel could also potentially support, in the future, activities related to our youth component.

Please join me in welcoming interns Samuel Adeyanju and Greta Castelli, our two latest additions to the NFOI Team!
Samuel is based in Vancouver and will support the forest education project, “Forests for a sustainable future: educating children”, which is developing educational materials for primary school children in Tanzania
and the Philippines. Greta, currently working from Bologna, will contribute to the outreach for major Forestry events, including COFO and the International Day of Forests.

Adeyanju graduated with a master’s degree in Forestry from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada in March 2020. He was one of the nine African students who won the prestigious Mastercard Foundation fully funded Scholarship
to study at UBC in 2017. In 2018-2019, he was president of the Local Committee of International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) at his home university (UBC) where he led many forestry and climate education and capacity development initiatives for students.
In 2019, he was one of the 500 young global climate champions selected to attend the United Nations Youth Climate Summit in New York. He has led/joined youth delegation to various high level events including the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate
Change (UNFCCC) COP23, Bonn, 66th session of the UNECE Committee on Forest and Forest Industry (COFFI2018) in Vancouver, Global Landscapes Forum (GLF Kyoto 2019 & GLF Accra 2019). He has strong interest in international forest policy and governance of forest
resources in Sub Saharan Africa.
In his spare time, Samuel enjoys watching Netflix, spending time on social media, going to the cinema and hanging out with friends.

Castelli is an alumna of Johns Hopkins University SAIS Europe and an Economics graduate from the University of Bologna. After her studies, she worked in Bologna as an Excel instructor and as the Assistant to the Director of the
Center for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development. She then moved to Milan to work as a corporate communication and sustainability consultant. She has a strong interest in environmental issues, climate change, and the sustainability of food systems
and is very keen on continuing to explore these topics
in her job and beyond.
