Dear Members,

I refer to the FFOA Information Note 06/2021 Covid-19 Vaccination Update, informing members on the latest developments on Covid 19 vaccinations for UN retirees and inviting those who have not been able to join the National health system (ASL) and thus without a Tessera Sanitaria (TS), that they could register their interest for inclusion on the FAO/UN list for Covid Vaccination. Some members have already registered their interest in inclusion.

We would like to inform members of the other option that was suggested i.e. to self-register with the Vaccination Campaign Center by calling the Lazio Salute assistance number : 06 164 161 841. (7.30 am -7.30 pm Monday- Friday and 7.30 am - 1 pm Saturday). A number of members have done this and have been successful in booking a vaccination date, without having a TS. Vaccination booking follows strict age bands as indicated before- presently the over 80s. 74-79 yrs and as of 15th March 72-73 yrs ( birth years 1948-49). Other age bands will be announced in the next two weeks so please check the Lazio Salute website to see when you can book. The online booking site does not accept booking requests without a TS so you should only use the telephone booking system.

The experience of members has been the following:

  * Phone lines are overloaded and you are told to call later... keep on trying ... once you get through you will be put in a queue for 5- 20 minutes and when asked press 1 and an operator will finally come online

  * Explain that you are a UN retiree and have a Codice Fiscale (CF) but not a TS as you have private insurance and you are resident in Lazio for xx years. He/she might say that you should have a TS to book but you should insist that a number of your colleagues have been able to book with a CF and without a TS. She will ask for your CF and confirm the name. He/she should then accept to offer you a booking and will proceed to offer you a date to be vaccinated in a centre near you ( you will be asked which is the ASL near you). If he/she refuses to book then ring off and ring the number again in the hope of getting a different operator who will accept to give you a booking.

  * Once booked you will receive an SMS on your phone within two minutes giving you the registration number and booking/ appointment confirmation details.
  * You will receive the date for the 1st vaccination and also the date for the 2nd vaccination.

You should then go to the Salute Lazio and, under Vaccination Booking homepage e.g.

Prenota Vaccino covid-19 (regione.lazio.it)<https://prenotavaccino-covid.regione.lazio.it/main/home> , click on VAI--> under “Gestione Appuntamenti”

  * Enter your codice fiscale, and click on the two check-boxes shown herebelow, before clicking on <CONTINUA> button

  * You will then be able to download and print your appointment confirmation and the 'Modulo' which you need to complete when you go to be vaccinated and a form for the vaccination service to complete. The vaccination form asks for the TS “if available” ( se disponibile ), which you don't have and therefore you leave it blank.

Hopefully the above booking process will be successful for those residents in other Regions; keep us informed.

Bookings should only be made when your age range is open for bookings. If you are 'young' then you will need to wait to book.

If there are problems in booking or your age band is likely to be called later you are reminded that you can still register for inclusion in the FFOA/FAO list ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) ,

which is open until 18th March.

Keep safe and well, persevere and you will succeed.

Regards,

FFOA Secretariat
