In 1962, around 30 Tibetan families migrated to Dungti, a refugee settlement located on the Indo-China Border in Ladakh (India). They made a living as traditional Pashmina herders, relying on the prized wool as their primary source of income. But they lived in darkness, until... On February 4, GHE electrified Dungti Village with the support of our CSR partners. GHE's team of engineers worked round the clock for three days in freezing conditions, with temperatures dropping as low as -25°C, to bring light and hope to the 51 households in the village.
