The Annual Conference of the International Commission for the Protection of the Alps
(CIPRA) will take place from 1 to 3 July 2021 in Biella, the Italian Alpine Town of the Year 2021. CIPRA invites all interested to join the event for a journey between nature and society, mountains and cities, to discover ways to sustainably preserve the
natural heritage of the Alps. The Annual Conference will include stimulating presentations on the value of ecosystem services, the importance of natural capital for the Alpine region, and the challenges
and opportunities for the relationship between cities and mountains. The programme includes excursions and a ceremony for the Alpine Town of the Year 2021 (download the programme in French, German, Italian and Slovenian). The event is organized by CIPRA Italy and CIPRA International, in collaboration and with the contribution of the City of Biella, the "Alpine Town of the Year" Association,
and the Cassa di Risparmio di Biella Foundation. Simultaneous interpretation in the main Alpine languages of French, German, Italian and Slovenian will be provided on site. For those who choose to tune in digitally, YouTube streams of some presentations will
be available in the original language of the presentation only. The deadline to register for the Annual Conference is 24 June 2021. The registration fee for the whole event is EUR 75 (EUR 60 for Friday only). For more information and to register, please visit the conference website and contact
