Dear colleagues,
In 2018, the Danish Technical University (DTU) has with support from the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI) organized three dry-lab exercises on in silico
datasets of bacteria to strengthen the United Nations Secretary General’s Mechanism (UNSGM) for investigating alleged use of chemical, biological and toxin weapons.

Since 2017, the Robert Koch-Institute (RKI), organizes a series of activities and Wet Lab EQAs within the RefBio project (Germany’s contribution to strengthen
the bio-analytical reference laboratories in the UNSGM), to support the operational readiness for the UNSGM.
Today, to further strengthen the UNSGM, the RKI, DTU and FOI invite you to participate in two Dry-Lab EQA exercises, to be conducted in September 2021 and May 2022.
The exercises will evaluate the capability of a laboratory to identify and characterize viral pathogens from
in silico datasets generated by modern DNA sequencing techniques.
Interested laboratories, both nominated or not nominated for the UNSGM roster, can participate by signing up via the following link until
6 September 2021:

For more information on the sign-up process, please contact Jette Sejer Kjeldgaard ([log in to unmask]).
For general questions regarding the EQAE, please contact Annika Brinkmann ([log in to unmask]).
You are also more than welcome to further distribute the invitation to relevant colleagues who might be interested to join.
Cheers
Rene
