The media is invited to attend an embargoed press briefing ahead of the official launch of the report ‘A multi-billion-dollar opportunity: repurposing agricultural support to transform food systems’. The report reveals new global data and recommendations on government subsidies to producers in the agricultural sector.
This is a landmark report by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), published ahead of the Food Systems Summit later this month, as well as part one of the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP15) in October and the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in November.
The virtual embargoed press briefing will feature the report authors from the three UN organizations and partners. It will begin with a technical presentation on the key findings of the report, followed by a Q&A session that is exclusively open for interested journalists.
Please note that the launch event for interested media will be held on Thursday, 9 September 2021, from 12 pm - 1 pm EAT / 11 am - 12 pm CET / 5 am - 6 am EST on Zoom. The report will remain under strict embargo until Tuesday, 14 September 2021.
