New version v3.0.6 of the PERSAM tool

There is a new version v3.0.6 of the PERSAM tool that contains a small bug fix: there were problems with starting the calculation for projects imported using the ‘Import project(s)’ functionality. This is solved and the issue does not occur anymore. The User Manual remains unchanged, so the one for version v3.0.5 applies. Check it out on the PERSAM page. PERSAM is used by regulatory offices and industry for predicting environmental concentrations of pesticides in top-soil. In support of the EFSA Guidance Document for predicting environmental concentrations of active substances of plant protection products in soil.

EU Soil Observatory Stakeholders Forum: 19-21 October 2021

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is organising the first ever EUSO Stakeholders Forum. For background info, please see the concept note. This three-day event (built on six, focused, half-day sessions) will reflect the challenges facing soil within the various strategies of the Green Deal  and Horizon Europe’s proposed Mission on Soil Health and Food. The meeting will also establish four dedicated Working Groups to address burning scientific and policy questions: soil monitoring,  data integration, soil pollution, erosion and biodiversity. Participants should register in order to participate in the discussion with Q&A. The agenda is available: https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/event/other-event/euso-stakeholders-forum

First Young Soil Researchers Forum: 21 October 2021

The EU Soil Observatory Stakeholders Forum organizes a 2.5-hours event with young scientists. There will be four parallel sessions: soil biodiversity, soil erosion, organic carbon & nutrients, soil monitoring and pollution. We received almost 100 abstracts and we will host circa 50 presentations from PhD candidates or early career scientists. The agenda  is available:
