Sixth Mountain Partnership Global Meeting
25-28 September 2022 | Aspen, Colorado

Dear Mountain Partnership members,
We have the honor to inform you that the next Mountain Partnership Global Meeting will be held from 25 to 28 September 2022 in Aspen,
Colorado, USA and will be hosted by the Aspen International Mountain Foundation, the State of Colorado, the City of Aspen and the Aspen Institute. Delegates are encouraged to register for a post-meeting two-day field trip to Telluride, Colorado, hosted by
the Telluride Institute with a focus on indigenous cultures.
The Mountain Partnership is the only United Nations voluntary alliance dedicated to mountains and mountain peoples.
Mountain Partnership focal points, jointly with the head of their institutions or organizations, are expected to take part in this
Global Meeting. Delegates will focus on defining the priorities for the next four years, exchanging knowledge, discussing thematic and regional issues, resource mobilization particularly in partnership with the private sector, governance, work planning and
Steering Committee matters.
The meeting will be held on the campus of the Aspen Institute and will be followed immediately by an Aspen Institute Symposium on climate
and mountain resilience. US Secretary of State John Kerry, now US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, has been invited to keynote, followed by panels comprised of global experts and policy makers. Please ensure that your government or organization will
be represented at the highest level.
