January 2022 Newsletter
On behalf of everyone at the GSBI, thank you partners, collaborators, bloggers, speakers, researchers, and soil biodiversity lovers for your enthusiasm, dedication, and support of soil biodiversity science and initiatives. We cannot be a successful initiative without you! Here are a few of your contributions in 2021:

We hope that you will continue to help us in our efforts to keep soil biodiversity in the forefront of global environmental policy in 2022, and we wish you a safe, healthy, and Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
The GSBI Secretariat
Congratulations to the recipient of the Glinka World Soil Prize, Lydie-Stella Koutika of the Research Center on the Productivity and Sustainability of Industrial Plantations (CRDPI), Republic of Congo! Koutika's current research focuses on soil biota and its role in nutrient cycling (especially phosphorus) and organic material content in plantation forest systems. Her work focuses on improving sustainability in food production and the livelihoods of growers in the Republic of Congo, and increasing knowledge of soil ecology in Africa. Congratulations!
