Dear Colleagues,
We very much hope this message finds you all well and healthy.
We are pleased to update you regarding the
2022 Bioenergy Week which is organized by GBEP in close collaboration with the Government of Paraguay and with the support of the FAO Office in Paraguay. The event is planned to take place in
Asunción, Paraguay, 26-29 September 2022 (26-28 September Conference - 29 September field visit) and we are aiming to have it as an in person event, however we are also making sure that it could work as an hybrid event (with participation both in person
and online), in line with the progresses of the pandemia. Further details on the exact venue and other logistics will be shared at due time.
We are pleased to share the structure of the agenda (attached), finalized reflecting inputs received by Partners and Observers so far.
We would be grateful if you could
send us your suggested speakers (full names and tentative titles) for each session by no later than 10 March 2022, with a view to develop a more detailed agenda. To this end, kindly consider that suggested speakers could be from the Latin
America region, as well as from any other region of the world, with a view to facilitate exchange of best practices and lessons learned, and potential replicability opportunities.
Allow us to take this opportunity to confirm that, connected to the 2022 GBEP Bioenergy Week, we have recently launched the
2022 GBEP Youth Award, open to Bachelor, Masters and PhD students from research institutions in the Americas, including North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America. Selected papers will be presented by the candidates and awarded
with a certificate during a special session at the end of the first day of the GBEP Bioenergy Week. The call for papers is available on the
GBEP website.
We very much look forward to receiving your inputs for a successful event and to finally seeing you all back again in person in Asunción.
Kindest regards,
Your GBEP Sec.
