“Empowering rural women in value chains for sustainable tourism in Small Island Developing States” Dear Mountain Partnership members and friends,
We take this opportunity to invite you to
“Empowering rural women in value chains for sustainable tourism in Small Island Developing States”,
a side event co-organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Mountain Partnership and Slow Food on the sidelines of the 66th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66). The purpose of the side event is to exchange countries’ experiences in adopting policies and programmes that address the nexus between sustainable tourism, value chains
and climate change for gender equality and women’s empowerment. The event will highlight ways in which strategic partnerships involving governments, civil society and the private sector can promote innovations and sustainable initiatives to accelerate progress
towards meeting various Sustainable Development Goals. The FAO Chief Scientist, Ismahane Elouafi, will deliver opening remarks. The Permanent Representative of Palau to the UN, Ambassador Ilana Seid, will deliver an opening
statement. Click here to register
for the side event. For more information, see the flyer
and visit the CSW66 calendar of events. With kind regards, The Mountain Partnership Secretariat |
